The corridor’s average general cargo spot rate reached USD 3.03 per kg in the week ending 8 December 2024, a 44% surge compared to four weeks ago. Despite muted cargo demand, several factors likely contributed to this increase: reduced belly capacity from winter schedules, freighter capacity shifted to Asia-related routes, and the recent Thanksgiving holiday period.
Among top inbound US airports, DFW topped the list with its general cargo spot rate at USD 4.68 per kg in the week ending 8 December, marking a striking 84% increase compared to four weeks ago.
