Four weeks on from the EU’s removal of its €150 duty-free threshold, the impact is clearest on the Asia–Western Europe corridor: ex China air cargo spot rates fell 21% from early July to USD 3.84 per kg in week 31 ending 2 August — now well below long-term rates — with Thailand (-19%) and Vietnam (-13%) close behind. Spot rates now sit below long-term levels in six of the ten markets tracked, a signal that weaker e-commerce volumes are softening the wider market.
