From 7 September next, the Sierra-1 cargo platform (VOP S72 to S96) will be renovated on behalf of Schiphol. By installing a hydrant network, electrical facilities, improved lighting, a revised VOP layout and improved rainwater drainage, we are preparing Sierra-1 for the future.
From the preparatory stage onwards, we have been working with the handling agents involved to ensure that day-to-day operations continue as smoothly as possible.
Timing
The works start 7 September next and are expected to take approximately three years; the project is scheduled to be completed mid-October 2029.
Implications
The accompanying flyers outline the operational impact of the project, both overall and during Phase 1. The general leaflet provides an overview of the various work areas throughout the entire project. The Phase 1 leaflet specifically outlines the impact of the works at VOPs S72, S74 and S77 on availability, driving and walking routes on the airside, and access to security posts.

We kindly ask you to share this information with your staff. Should you require this information in printed form (e.g. posters or leaflets), please do let us know. The route changes on site will also be clearly indicated through traffic signage.
