Sustainability in air cargo is no longer a side conversation, it’s a business imperative. The International Air Cargo Association TIACA Sustainability Insight Report 2025 is more than just a collection of stats.
It’s a mirror held up to the industry, showing both the progress made and the work still to do.

Here’s what we’re learning from this 5th edition ⤵️
Progress is real:
✅ 84% of companies are actively investing in digitalization, and 83% in innovation.
✅ 71% have a dedicated sustainability strategy, and nearly half have a sustainability budget.
✅ 91% are tackling the issue of single-use plastics
✅ 83% invest in training & education, and 74% in diversity & inclusion.
✅ 69% of large companies now publish a sustainability report.

Why this matters:
• These numbers show a clear shift from awareness to action.
• Sustainability is no longer “nice to have”, it’s being embedded in procurement, risk management, talent strategies, and board-level decision-making.

But gaps remain:
• Small companies lag behind: only 60% have a sustainability strategy.
• The pressure to be sustainable has slightly decreased, despite rising expectations.
• Only 32% are actively involved in SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel), a sign that we need more collective momentum.
