Over the past few years, Schiphol has been actively involved in enhancing processes within the air cargo industry. A significant part of these improvements is being realized through the Schiphol Cargo Mainport Program (SCMP). In collaboration with the cargo community, an initiative was launched to make import processes safer and more efficient, leading to the ‘Secure Import’ project.
Transport and logistics service providers are vulnerable for the undermining effect of criminality activity. Air freight in particular, because it is mainly high-quality and expensive products that are transported by air. Logistics companies and their employees are experiencing increasing problems due to criminal activities in the transport of cargo from and to mainport Schiphol. Logistics employees must be able to do their job without threats or intimidation.
