Amsterdam Airport Schiphol handled 104,195 tonnes of air cargo in June 2025, a 14% decrease compared to the same month last year. This decline was largely driven by temporary operational factors, as ground handlers offered less cargo capacity due to new IT system implementations and a freight building transition. Additionally, the days surrounding the NATO summit showed slightly lower volumes.
Belly cargo volumes fell by nearly 19%, while full freighter movements dropped by 2% year-on-year (1,215 flights). The belly vs. full freighter split shifted to 41% / 59%, a 2-point gain for full freighters.
Despite the overall drop, inbound volumes from Asia grew by 1% — the only region to show growth, mainly driven by e-commerce. Overall top commodity groups included consolidated cargo, electrical machinery, flowers, clothing, and fish.
With operational constraints expected to ease in July, volumes are anticipated to rebound in the coming months.
