International Air Transport Association (IATA), BARIN, Board of Airline Representatives In the Netherlands and Air Cargo Netherlands have sent a letter to the dutch minister of Infrastructure, mr. Harbers, to reemphasize our concerns regarding the Dutch Government’s plans with respect to a nationale ceiling on CO2 emissions per airport in the Netherlands which would have detrimental effects on the aviation industry.
The air cargo industry is fully engaged to decarbonize and to reach net zero emission by 2050 but the imposition of a national CO2-ceiling per airport will raise several issues and contradictions under which incompability with Global agreements and conflicts with EU ETS.
