Air cargo spot rates from Western Europe to the US are on the rise as airlines’ winter schedules began on Sunday, 27 October. The corridor’s cargo dynamic load factor climbed 7 percentage points from four weeks ago to 74% in the week ending 27 October. Dynamic load factor is Xeneta’s measurement of capacity utilization based on volume and weight of cargo flown alongside available capacity.
As a result, general cargo spot rates for shipments over 1,000 kg increased for nearly all selected US destinations from Western Europe. Inbound ORD topped the list, with spot rates jumping 32% compared to four weeks ago.
