In the week ending 5 July, air cargo spot rates from Asia to Western Europe fell 5% compared to two weeks earlier.
Beijing (PEK) and Shanghai (PVG) recorded the largest declines, falling 14% to USD 4.51 per kg and 11% to USD 5.71 per kg respectively. The drop coincides with the end of the EU’s de minimis exemption for low-value imports on 1 July. Delhi (DEL) and Bangkok (BKK) also fell by high single digits, driven by lower jet fuel prices and the gradual recovery of regional cargo capacity following the Middle East conflict.
