The Asia to Europe air cargo market demand reached new heights in June, showing a 23% increase from the previous year. Despite a low comparison base, the surge in air cargo demand can be attributed to the spillover of the Red Sea shipping chaos. This is because shippers are frontloading goods to avoid further disruptions from the Red Sea crisis and new tariffs in the EU. As a result, the air cargo spot rate from Asia to Europe also hit a new high in June.
