In the week ending 1 September, average air cargo spot rates from Western Europe to the US rose 7% compared to four weeks ago, reaching USD 1.88 per kg. Inbound Eastern US rates showed the largest increases. For instance, ORD experienced the highest jump of 17% to USD 2.20 per kg—the second-highest rate overall. NYC followed closely with a 16% increase to USD 1.58 per kg. In contrast, Western US airports LAX and SFO saw rate declines of -5% and -15% respectively. IAD was the only Eastern US airport in the list to show a rate decline (-12%).
