This year’s summer schedules are set to commence in less than three weeks on 31 March 2024. Over the previous year, the transatlantic market saw its cargo capacity increase by about a third from the first week of March to the last week of June. This increase is to inevitably lower the cargo load factor for this market. The Europe to ORD route was least impacted by the influx of capacity last year. Its dynamic load factor stood at 80% in the last week of June 2023, just two percentage points lower than the first week of March 2024.
