In recent years, the year-end peak season would normally push air freight rates up by roughly 20% for Europe to North America corridor. However, this year’s peak season does not arrive. From the end of September to mid-December, dynamic load factor rose 5 percentage points to 72%, which remained below load factors in previous years. And spot air freight rate on this corridor has stabilized since November. In the week ending on December 11, it stood at USD 3.19 per kg, down 47% from the peak during December 13 – 26 last year.
